5 oz tuna in oil, drained
1 egg
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup wheat flour
¼ cup wheat germ
½ cup cornmeal
¼ cup water
½ tablespoon dried catnip
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F / 180°C.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix all ingredients until everything comes together.
- Form a soft dough. It will be slightly sticky.
- Lightly flour your work surface and place the dough on top.
- Pinch off small pieces and roll them gently into little balls.
- Press each ball down until it’s about the size of a coin.
- Place the cookies on the baking tray, leaving a little space between them.
- Bake for 20 minutes, until firm and lightly golden.
- Let them cool completely before offering one to your cat.
A Gentle Note
- These cookies contain flour, just like many commercial cat treats. Most cats tolerate this well in small amounts, but every cat is different. If your cat has allergies or dietary sensitivities, check with your veterinarian before introducing homemade treats.
Homemade treats don’t need to be perfect.
They just need to be made with love.
